Inductee

Wes was a 1989 graduate of Deshler High School in Tuscumbia lettering in football and track. He was the starting center as a senior on the Tiger team that finished the season 9-4 and advanced to the third round of the State Playoffs. He also threw the discus and the shot in track. Following his graduation Wes embarked on a career as an athletic trainer attending the University of Alabama that would include receiving National Championship rings as a member of the athletic training staffs at Alabama in 1992 and the University of North Alabama in both1994 and 1995. Additionally he received a Gulf South Championship ring for men's basketball at UNA in 1996. Wes began as a student trainer for the Crimson Tide in 1990 and worked on the staffs of respected Head Athletic Training Bill McDonald, Sang Lyda and Phil Cross. He graduated with a degree in Athletic Training from the University of Alabama and became nationally certified and Alabama State licensed as an Athletic Trainer in 1994. He has worked as a certified athletic trainer with Shoals area schools since 1996 and has been working in that capacity with North Alabama  Bone and Joint Clinic since 2005. He worked behind the scenes as an athletic trainer providing care for actors, extras and crew members on the set of the move "Woodland."
