Milton Franklin

Class of 2001

Milton Franklin graduated from Walker County Training School in 1946. He is also and 1950 Graduate of Alabama A&M.  He was a three-sport letterman in college playing football, basketball and running track. In basketball, he was a Team Captain and was recognized of the 1950 MVP. 

 

After college, Franklin embarked on a coaching career spanning twenty-five years. He was head coached basketball at Reedtown in Russellville, AL, Sterling in Sheffield, AL as well as Sheffield High Schoo in Sheffield, AL. In 1950 he was selected as the NAHSAA Football Coach of the Year.

 

In 1992, Coach Franklin was inducted into the Alabama A&M Athletic Hall of Fame.
