Kenny Aycock

Inductee

A graduate of Sheffield High School, Kenny Aycock excelled in both football and baseball for the Bulldogs. Following high school Kenny went on to play baseball fort the University of North Alabama from 1979 to 1982. Upon graduating from UNA he began a high school coaching career at Cherokee High School that spanned 39 years. Coaching football, basketball, and baseball for the Indians, he was a member of coaching staffs that me it to the State Playoff 32 times with four appearances in the baseball finals. Also included were eight Semi-Finals along with four regional championships in football. He was the Head Coach in Girls Basketball for eight years and the Head Boys Coach for fifteen. A proven winner in all the sports he coached, it was baseball where as the assistant to Coach Richard Phillips for 33 years, that they built on of the most successful and respected baseball programs in the State of Alabama. A coaching philosophy every successful coach adheres to is to surround yourself with good people. Coach Aycock went well beyond.
