Chris Tucker

Inductee

A 1986 graduate of Sheffield High School, Chris was an outstanding three sport athlete for the bulldogs. In football, he played quarterback and led Sheffield to a 11-2 season and to the third round of the state playoffs during his 1985-1986 senior season. He was equally talented in basketball as on the gridiron, playing forward and averaging 22 ppg along with 10 rpg his senior season. He was named All-State Honorable Mention. Following high school Chris was signed to a football scholarship by Austin Peay University where he was a three year starter at tight end for the Governors and was chosen All-Conference his senior season.

After Chris received his college degree her returned home to begin a high school coaching career with stops in both Sheffield and South Lamar High Schools. He was both Head Football and Head Basketball Coach at Sheffield where he led the 2006-2007 basketball team to an Area Championship that first year. He followed that up with area championships the next two years along with both an Elite 8 and Final Four appearance. Chris is now in his eight season leading South Lamar basketball team.
