George Patton

Class of 2001

George Patton graduated from Deshler High School in 1962. That same year, he was selected to the All-Tennessee Valley Conference Football Team. 

 

Following high school, Patton signed a football scholarship with the University of Georgia. During his college career, he was an All-SEC selection in 1964, 1965, and 1966.  He was also and All-American in 1965 and 1966. In 1966 he was SEC Lineman of the Year and named MVP of the Cotton Bowl. He also played in the 1967 Senior Bowl.

Patton played with the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL. He was inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 1992 and he is a member of the University of Georgia All-Time Football Team.
