Edwin fretwell

Inductee

Edwin graduated from Colbert County High School in 1963 where he was a member of both the Indians basketball and football squads. It was in that same year that he began an outstanding career playing softball that earned him more awards as a individual player that many teams won. He was named to six All-State teams and played on five State Championship teams. In 2000 Edwin was named to the Alabama State A.S.A. Hall of fame. His love for the game of softball grew from an early age when he was in junior high school to playing for several travel teams that had unprecedented success. In addition to his softball Edwin became one of the State's most celebrated football officials for oven 40 years working four State Championship games. Edwin was also a basketball official for 32 years and umpired softball for 26 years.
