Orlandus King

Inductee

Orlandus was a tremendous athlete for the Colbert County High School Indians and was another in the long line of gifted payers that took their talents to the next level. Following high school, he was signed to a football scholarship by Northeast Mississippi Community College where he made an immediate impact in his freshman season. While playing for Coach Andy Greening at Northeast he made 49 solo tackles and had seven sacks along with two interceptions during the 2004 season. He was listed as the number 19 junior college recruit in the Jackson Clarion-Ledger that same year and was selected to play in the Mississippi Junior College All-Star Game. Orlandus helped to lead the Tigers to the North Division Title in 2004 and was named All-State and All-Region. He then transferred to the University of Alabama Birmingham and again made an immediate contribution to the Blazers defense at linebacker. In 2005 he started all 11 games and was the team leader in tackles with 85 of which 41 were solo stops. He also had six tackles for loss, three sacks, had two interceptions and a fumble recovery.
