A graduate of Deshler high school, Jothani, was a three sport  athlete in volleyball, basketball and track. She was selected to the 4A All-Area basketball team in the years 2010-2013, to the All-Regional Tournament Team in 2011, and was chosen to the TimesDaily 4A -6A All-Area team in 2010. She helped lead the Lady Tigers to the state finals in both 2008 and 2010. Following high school she  was awarded a basketball scholarship to Birmingham-Southern College where as a freshman she made an immediate impact, playing in 25 games and drawing nine starts. The following season she played in all 26 games averaging 3.6 points per game while also competing on the BSC track team earning All-American and first team Alt-Conference as part of the 4x100 meter relay team. Jothani continued to be a valuable member of the BSC basketball team as a junior and senior as they won the Southern Athletic Conference regular season title and she was named to the All-Tournament team leading the team in threes and assists. Additionally, she was named BSC Woman of the year in 2016-2017.
