Alyssa lettered four years in softball, three years in volleyball and two years in basketball for Muscle Shoals High School. In basketball she was selected All-County in 1999 and All-County in softball during the 2000 season. Even though she was an outstanding basketball and softball player it was Trojan volleyball in which she excelled. She was All-County, All-Area and All-Region for three consecutive years from 1997 through 1999. Additionally she was the Times Daily Player of the Year in 1999 and AHSAA volleyball Most Valuable Player in 1999 5A State Tournament. After high school Alyssa received a scholarship to Northwest Shoals Community College and followed that by signing with Samford University for her final two years. She was both an Athletic and Academic All-American while playing for the Lady Bulldogs. She now coaches volleyball and softball at Deshler High School.
