Class of 2008
Andy graduated from Cherokee Vocational High School in 1963. Following high school he attended Florence State College where he graduated in 1968. During high school Andy played basketballs, football and baseball. He was selected to play in the Lions Club Baseball All-Star Game in 1963 and was on both the All-County and All-District Basketball teams. He went on to start as a sophomore and junior in basketball at Florence State averaging 16.4 points and 6 rebounds per game. He was selected to the Alabama Collegiate Conference team and the Alabama Small College team by the Birmingham Post Herald during the 1966-1967 season. After college he returned to Cherokee as the head basketball coach and assistant football coach in 1968. He continued to coach through the 1975-1976 season and then became the principal of the school for 16 years. He is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Education for Colbert County Schools.
