Sid Trimble

Inductee

A Graduate of Cullman High School and St. Bernard College, Coach Trimble is from one of the most well-known athletic families in North Alabama. His brothers were known for their days playing football in college and Coach for the lasting influence on the lives of hundreds of athletes he coached in and around the Shoals Area. After high school he received a baseball scholarship to St. Bernard and after he graduated from college, he began a teaching and coaching career that would span over thirty years. He began at Union Hill High School and then would go on to Phil Campbell, Colbert Heights, Colbert County, Muscle Shoals, and Shoals Christian. He was the head football coach at Phil Campbell, head baseball and girls' basketball coach at Muscle Shoals, and head football and girls' basketball coach at Shoals Christian. His 1980 Muscle Shoals baseball team were Area Champions, and he was named the TimesDaily Coach of the Year. His Shoals Christian teams won the league Eight Man Championship in football and Girls Basketball Championship when the school first began competing in athletics. He was also a highly respected basketball official in the Shoals Area for many years. In education, coaching and in all areas of life there is a great truth that says," surround yourself with good people to be successful." Those of us that were taught, played for, coached with or have been friends with Coach Trimble have been blessed with that opportunity.
