Lawrence Crowson

Class of 2003

Lawrence Crowson is a retired Medical Doctor living in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was a practicing physician in Huntsville and Knoxville for over 40 years.

A 1949 graduate of Sheffield High School, he was a member of the school National Honor Society and was the Salutatorian of his class. As a bulldog he played football, basketball and baseball. Lawrence was awarded one of the first scholarships from this area to the University of Tennessee playing tailback for the Volunteers. He lettered on the 1951 team that was recently selected as one of the greatest teams at . U.T.

As a high school star he was All Tri-Cities football in 1948 and 1949, All TVC in 1949, received the Grogan Trophy for most outstanding Tri-Cities football player in 1949 and played in AHSAA All-Star football game in 1950. Recently he was chosen as one of Sheffield High School's All-time best football players.
