Dr. Holcomb is a native of Birmingham Alabama and a graduate of Ramsey High School. After high school he earned his BS from Auburn University and his Medical Doctor Degree from the Medical College of Alabama Birmingham (now UAB). He is a United States Army Medical Corps Viet Nam Veteran and is employed by Shoals Urological Associates in Sheffield.

He has made valuable contributions to the Sheffield High School athletic program serving as team physician for twenty years. He has performed hundreds of physicals and treated numerous athletes with both game and practice injuries.
