Inductee

Shaquetta graduated from Muscle Shoals High School where she was a four year letter-man in basketball for Coach Brenda Mayes. As a member of the Lady Trojans she was one of the most honored athletes in the Shoals area and the state during her high school career while receiving national acclaim as well. Following high school she went on to play for the UAB Lady Blazers 1999-2000 squad that reached the sweet sixteen in the NCAA Tournament during her sophomore season. She scored six points, pulled down six rebounds and scored the winning basket in overtime with two seconds left as UAB defeated Oregon in the first round of the tournament. In four seasons of high school basketball, Shaquetta was selected All-County and All-Area for four years, Times Daily 4A-5A Player of the year in 1996-1997, Second Team All-State her junior year and First Team All-State as a senior. She was also a Street and Smith All-American, USA Today Honorable Mention Alabama Player of the year and a Birmingham News Super Senior during the 1997-1998 season. Shaquetta completed her high school career averaging 21.0 points and 11.4 rebounds as a senior prior to being awarded a scholarship to Alabama Birmingham.
