Jason graduated in January of 2002 from Muscle Shoals High School. As an early graduate he was the first player in Tennessee football history to graduate from high school and then travel to the bowl site that same month to participate in practice for the Florida Citrus Bowl. In high school he was twice selected to the 5A All-State team as a running back, was the Alabama Gatorade Player of the Year, was chosen as the No. 1 player in Alabama by both the Birmingham News and Mobile Register, and was a SuperPrep All-American according to PrepStar and Borderwars. Com. During his senior season he ran for 1,740 yards and 21 touchdowns along with 378 yards and three touchdowns receiving. He was also outstanding in the secondary for the Trojans. In addition to football Jason lettered in track during his high school career. In college he was four year letter-man and a three year starter for the Tennessee Volunteers appearing in 43 games and starting 26, playing both safety and cornerback. Following his 2004 junior season with the Vols, Jason was a third team Associated Press All-American selection, second team All-SEC Coaches and Associated Press selection and a Jim Thorpe Award semi-finalist as the most outstanding college defensive back. During his senior season he suffered a season ending dislocated hip after only the fifth game in 2005. Jason was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the first round of the 2006 NFL Drafts as the overall number 16 selection. He recorded 247 career tackles and 15 interceptions playing for the Dolphins, the Huston Texans and the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL.
