Class of 2015

sharron Garrison

Inductee

The headline read "it's been a record setting year for Sharon Garrison on the A.M.R.A. drag bike racing circuit". That statement referring to the 1993 drag bike racing season was just one of many references to the outstanding success Sharon had as a professional drag racer. In a career spanning over 25 years she set thirteen National Records and was the 1993 A.M.R.A. National Champion. Riding a drag bike at speeds exceeding 125 miles per hour and covering a one-eighth mile distance in 5.97 seconds is but a part of Sharon's athletic accomplishments that includes being chosen the MVP of her high school basketball team at Colbert Heights High School. She was a member of the All-Tournament Team of a World Series Champion slow pitch softball team, coach of two youth girls State Championship teams and a ranked player in the United States Tennis Association. Sharon has been an assistant basketball coach to Jana Killen at Deshler High School for 21 years which has included five State Championships.
