A 1991 graduate of Deshler High School, Scott played football, basketball and baseball. In football he was a three year starter as a safety during his sophomore season, quarterback and safety during his junior and a quarter back on the 1990 undefeated 15-0 State Champion Tiger Squad. During that senior season he was the All-Area MVP, selected to the All-State Football Team, selected as one of the top forty players in the state by the Huntsville Times and played in the Alabama vs. Mississippi All-Star Game. During his senior campaign he had 20 total touchdowns, 8 rushing touchdowns and 1,104 passing yards along with 756 rushing yards. In basketball Scott started in his sophomore, junior and senior season. During his senior year he was named All-County, All-Area and All-State and was selected to the All-State Tournament Team. He averaged 18 points per game and 15 rebounds per game and help lead the Tigers Basketball Team to the final four. In baseball he started in centerfold from 1987 through 1990. Scott was offered both basketball scholarships and football scholarships after high school but chose to sign with University of Louisville and later transferred to play for Samford University.
