A graduate of Deshler High School in 1980, Tim was a letter-man in football, baseball and wrestling. He was selected to the All Area Team in football both his junior and senior years. In addition he was the Tigers MVP and Team Captain following his senior season. In baseball he was Team MVP and Team Captain his senior year along with being named to the All Area Team. He was a four year varsity wrestler, a three time State Champion in the 185 pound weight class and was 32-0 in matches during his senior year. Tim was part of Deshler's first and second state Champion Wrestling Teams in 1977 and 1978. He was the Tigers MVP and Team Captain during his senior season. Following high school he received a football scholarship to the University of North Alabama, playing three years as a strong safety and linebacker for the Lions. He earned a B.S. degree in finance from UNA and went on to serve ten years in the United States Army after being commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant through the R.O.T.C. department.
