Floyd patterson
Class of 2009
Floyd graduated from Colbert County High School in 1950. He was a three sport athlete for the Indians playing football, basketball and baseball. As a senior he was selected Honorable Mention All-State as a halfback on offense and safety on defense. Following high school he received a scholarship to play football at East Mississippi Community in Scooba, Mississippi where he started every game and was team captain. He then served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he played service football. After being discharged from service he returned to college playing at Delta State in Cleveland, Mississippi for legendary coach Gene Chadwick.
