A graduate of Middleton High School in Tennessee and Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, Bobby led the Colbert Heights Wildcats in the 1976 2-A State Basketball Championship.During his eight years at the helm of the Cats he had three, twenty or more win seasons and was the 1976 2-A State Coach of the Year. He also coached the North squad in the All-Star game twice during that span. Following his success at Colbert Heights he went on to lead Cherokee to four, twenty win seasons and four area championships. Bobby was also a softball umpire for 31 years and was inducted into the ASA Hall of Fame in 2000.
