Allison rutledge

Inductee

A graduate of Sheffield High School Alison was a three sport letter-man in softball, basketball and volleyball. She was All-Area and All-County in 1991, 1992 and 1993 as a member of the softball and basketball team; and she was also All-Area in Volleyball for the 1993 season. Alison accepted a softball scholarship to Northwest Shoals Community College following high school, playing volleyball and softball. While at Shoals she was named team captain of the 1995 softball team and was selected to the All-State Team at the NJCAA State Tournament. In the summer of 1995 she was invited to an open try-out for the inaugural softball team at the University of Alabama-Huntsville and was awarded a scholarship. That team won the Gulf South Conference Tournament in its first season and went on to appear in the South-Region Tournament. During Alison's junior year she played fast pitch softball for the very first time starting at shortstop for the Lady Chargers and was named All-South Region, All GSC East Conference, team caption, lead the GSC in hits with 72 and batted.338. Alison has coached softball at Tanner High School, Northwest Shoals and Huntingdon College.
